Well, I managed to pick up a new scanner today. My old one was literally just failing at everything. It couldn't print/fax anymore, and any drivers I would install for it are just outdated and refuse to install completely into XP. So, I bit the bullet, and purchased a new scanner. I'd say there's a little more than a slight improvement.

Old Scanner Vs. New Scanner
